Navarro Independent School District

NISD will be accepting substitute teacher and substitute teacher aide applications beginning July, 2023.

Substitute rate of pay:

• Teachers - $100 daily
• Aides - $ 85 daily
• Clerical - $11 per hour

This district does NOT deduct Social Security or Teacher Retirement from substitute wages.

Substitutes pay into a FICA (Social Security) Alternative plan Managed by Mid America Solutions.

• TRS retirees receiving monthly TRS annuity payments are exempt from the FICA Alternative withholding.
• TRS retirees are limited with respect to the amount of days and types of assignments they can accept.
