Protecting Your Mental Health

  • banner in purple bold letters that says "mental health and counseling Partner. It's okay to ask for help."

If you or someone you know is struggling, please reach out for help through these community organization or online resources.

If your or someone you know is in a mental health crisis or emergency, call 911 immediately.

To support your mental well-being, we encourage you to:

  • Prioritize self-care: Make time for activities that bring joy and happiness that are just for you, such as spending time in nature, exercising, engaging in hobbies, or simply relaxing.
  • Connect with loved ones: Spend quality time with family and friends, fostering meaningful relationships.
  • Practice gratitude: Take time to appreciate the positive aspects of your life. This can be done through journaling, reflection, and reaching out to those around you to connect and thank them for their positive influence on your life.
  • Limit screen time: Reduce exposure to social media and news that can contribute to stress and anxiety.
  • Keep routines: Minimize distractions by creating focused times for activities. This can improve concentration on the present and create a sense of accomplishment.
  • Seek support when needed: Do not hesitate to call 911 if you are in a mental health crisis situation. That is the fastest way to get help and receive the best form of care you need. You can reach for help through the NEW STOPit Crisis Text Line to text a crisis counselor in the app or website. This feature will alert school administrators as well. You can also reach out to any of our community resource partners who offer valuable mental health services and want to help.
